Blues Creation - Demon & Eleven Children (1971)

Blues Creation - Demon & Eleven Children (1971)

Blues Creation was a Japanese heavy psych band that flourished during the late 60's to the 80's. The band was the brainchild of Kazuo Takeda, virtuous guitar player and singer. Demon & Eleven Children is a extremely competent work that mixes psychedelic, blues and hard rock, filled with innovation and heavy influences.

"Brane Baster" is a instrumental track that sounds as heavy as Black Sabbath in the very dawn of heavy metal.

"Mississippi Mountain Blues" instead displays a strong blues song with elements of hard rock and distorted guitars coming in and out the arrangement.

Japanese and Ocidental influences mixes side by side in this high quality release. The innovative talent of Kazuo Takeda is enough to bring any fan of the hard rock scenario to take a look at its one.

Grand Funk Railroad - Red Album (1969)

Grand Funk Railroad - Red Album (1969)

As a Grand Funk's fan, this album of 1969 is by far my favorite.

The Red Album, actually named Grand Funk, delivers some classic iconic hard rock by the power trio Mark Farner (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Mel Schacher (bass guitar) and Don Brewer (drums/vocals).

This is the complete version, apparently released just in Japan, that revealed "Nothing Is This Same" and the extended remix of "Mr. Limousine Driver". Some RARs only feature the 8 original tracks, but this version of "Nothing Is The Same" is the highly recommended, as seems to sound far better than the track included in the 1970 album "Closer to Home".

"Got This Thing on the Move", "Please Don't Worry", "In Need", "Paranoid", "Inside Looking Out" and "Nothing Is The Same" are my very personal picks.

Tracks:

All songs written by Mark Farner, except where noted.
  1. "Got This Thing on the Move" – 4:38
  2. "Please Don't Worry" (Don Brewer, Farner) – 4:19
  3. "High Falootin' Woman" – 3:00
  4. "Mr. Limousine Driver" – 4:26
  5. "In Need" – 7:52
  6. "Winter and My Soul" – 6:38
  7. "Paranoid" – 7:50
  8. "Inside Looking Out" (John LomaxAlan LomaxEric BurdonBryan "Chas" Chandler) – 9:31
